The ATP Cup is the latest edition in the ATP tour with 24 teams divided in six groups will play from 3rd – 12th January across three Australian cities, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth. The event is the build up to the Australian Open, the first Grand Slam of the year. 24 teams will compete in the event playing two single ties and one double tie. The teams are divided into 6 groups with four teams in each group.
 
Some highlights from the first weekend of the ATP Cup:
  • Felix Auger-Aliassime of Canada won the first match of ATP Cup against Michail Pervolarakis of Greece
  • Canada won the first tie of ATP Cup against Greece
  • Novak Djokovic started his season with a two tie break set win against Kevin Anderson
  • Roberto Bautista Agut of Spain won his match against Aleksandre Mereveli of Georgia by a score of 6-0, 6-0
  • Rafael Nadal start his season with a two-set win over Nikoloz Basilashvili
  • German pair Kevin Krawietz & Andreas Mies won their match against Michail Pervolarakis & Stefanos Tsitsipas of Greece in the 3rd set match tie break by a score of 17-15 by virtue of saving 6 match points
  • Australia became the first team to qualify for the knockout stages
  • Greece became the first team to be knocked out of the ATP Cup
