Did Nadal Really Beat Medvedev Down 1-5 in the 3rd Set?

Nadal is The Comeback King!

Is Nadal Still Good?

After Nadal took a beat down from Alexander Zverev, he looked to redeem himself Tuesday morning (PST) against the winningest player on tour this year Medvedev. After a tough tie breaker loss in the first set Nadal needed one break to tie the match 1 set a piece. But he still didn’t look right. Granted Zverev was serving a regular 135 ball out wide that was pretty untouchable, Nadal has looked just a little off in London. Normally that doesn’t matter too much for a player of Nadal’s caliber, but against the top 8 players in the world all hungry for your number 1 spot, those careless errors (that he usually never makes) add up. Just ask Fed and Novak both taking tough losses this week. After Nadal proceeded to go down 1-5 in the 3rd set the announcer to his credit did say never count out Nadal, but Medvedev looks in control here. I, like many others Im sure, turned the TV off and continued with my day to wait on the Zverev - Tsitsipas battle at noon PST.
Checking my fantasy football team, I see that Nadal has won in a epic 3rd Set Tie Breaker. I’m sorry what?!!??!?! Nadal realized who he was and wasn’t going to let some young gun slinger give Nadal his second loss in a row! Although the courts are fast, not in Nadal favor, he did what Nadal does best and dug down deep for a wild come from behind victory. This not only helps his chances of making it to the second part of Nitto, but also helps protects his year end world number 1 ranking that Novak has his eye on! I think Nadal has been trying to teach us this lesson since he started playing tennis. NEVER GIVE UP! Even if you don’t like tennis, Nadal is one of the biggest fighters in Sports History. You can literally never count him out! Love to see that fight still left in him even after all these years and countless injuries. The Nitto ATP Finals is shaping out to be great one and we still have a lot of tennis left! Who do you got taking home this years ATP Finals Trophy?
